We love going to the San Francisco Zoo as there is so much to see and do for kids of all ages. Our favorite section is the African section at the front with the giraffes. The kids also love the petting zoo area, the train and the carousel. There are lots of options for dining but it does get crowded so either go early or late. Remember to bring your fleece even in the summer as it gets cold by the ocean. It could be sunny a few miles away but freezing at the zoo.

A great zoo with a train, merry go round and petting zoo for the younger kids.

Over 1,000 animals and an amazing variety of programs to entertain toddlers including the Asian Elephant exhibit, the big cat feedings at the Lion House, and the Penguin Island. At the Children's Zoo, young children can feed and pet animals FREE first Wednesdays of every month. Read more at Family Travel Forum: http://bit.ly/c0utcV

We love the petting zoo, bug zoo, and the train ride. Great place to take a 2 year old that likes to run free. Also has a lot great food option in the lemar cafe, even have pb and j sandwiches.

Some exhibits are very nice, while many others are under construction, or do not have the capacity for easy viewing if your child is in a stroller. Has a really fun Children's zoo (kids can pet and groom sheep and goats and get an upclose peak at other farm animals). Zoo has a puffer train and carousel which are really fun for kids. Overall, worth the visit.
